My wife and I were looking to replace our kitchen and liked the look of the colour range at John Lewis. Great kitchens but really expensive. So, I googled John Lewis kitchens and stumbled across a forum that was discussing the merits of various makes of kitchen. I discovered that the John Lewis Vermont kitchen we'd seen was part of a range by Mereway Kitchens and that Alaris could design and supply the same kitchen for significantly less. I didn't really think it would lead to anything but thought I might as well give it a go. At first I was a bit worried - designing and ordering a kitchen online sounds a bit dicey. I shouldn't have worried. John Murray was the guy who designed the kitchen. I supplied John with room dimensions and he got about designing the kitchen. I must have changed my mind a thousand times but John remained patient and answered all my questions. He also stressed that there was no rush for me to order and that I needed to be sure I was happy with everything. Finally, I ordered and yes, I was worried again. No need - the kitchen units were delivered to my door, on time and every item on the quote was as ordered. The result was a top quality kitchen at half the price that John Lewis would have charged - I know because I got a ball park quote from them. I also had the fun of being part of the design process. John was great throughout and I can certainly recommend Alaris.

The door arrived yesterday, it should go in soon. We have now been using the kitchen, worktop and all, for over two weeks and are very happy with it. It looks great, had some lovely comments from our friends, and I have to say again how pleased we are with the service we received, everything went so smoothly, would definitely recommend Alaris to anyone, and not to mention the excellent support I got from you personally.
Once all the outstanding bits are finished (wish I could say the above about the builders too) I'll post you the pics.

After looking at many kitchens in fancy showrooms I ‘Googled’ the kitchen I liked and found Alaris as a recommended supplier. I contacted them, faxed them my plans and was given a quote that day. It really was too good to be true! I did have to do more work myself than if I had used a kitchen showroom, however I have an amazing kitchen and have saved £££ The whole kitchen was delivered on time, everything correctly labelled piece by piece. I only had to deal with one person from start to finish, James Stephens who really knows the products, is very knowledgeable on all aspects of kitchen design, and reliable always easy to contact. Yes I was worried about buying off the internet, so I researched the company on the internet, also paying by credit card as insurance. I cannot recommend Alaris highly enough.”

I didn't like the kitchen which my builder was suggesting so I started to look online for alternatives. I hit on some reviews of Alaris kitchens which said that they sold expensive kitchens (John Lewis, for one) at heavily discounted prices. I started correspondence with John Murray Junior at the company and was extremely impressed with his prompt responses to my numerous questions. My builder gave me the measurements and John chose the correct fitting units to fit into the space and to compliment the appliances which I was buying separately. I was nervous of spending so much money online but when the stuff arrived I was delighted. Everything was as he had promised. I went on to order bathroom furniture, sanitaryware and 4 bedroom wardrobes. Everything was of a very high quality and that was backed up with support from the whole team at Alaris. Everyone really reacted quickly to queries and requests. I have no hesitation in recommending Alaris - they have that 'old fashioned' sense of serving the customer and provide high quality goods at very reasonable prices.

I would not hesitate to recommend this company and the product. We purchased a Pronorm Y-line kitchen. What you are buying is a quality German engineered kitchen. There is a distinct difference between these units and those you may find on the high street. We wished to build some of our units into a stud wall, the measurements we recieved from John at Alaris were "mm" perfect!John emailed a 3D plan, we ordered, the kitchen arrived (0n the day agreed) and we slotted it into position. Job done, no tradesmen required! Every aspect of these units has been designed to the highest standard.

If your concerned about buying over the net, don't be! We had some very minor transport damage (scratches) to a door. I sent Alaris an email (just one)replacement door arrives shortly thereafter from Germany. No arguments, no delays, NO PROBLEM. This is the service you should recieve but very rarely do. I have purchased a kitchen in the past from a national chain and waited months for just a reply!

I would just like to say a big thanks for all your help in organizing our kitchen order and delivery. We had spent 9 months looking for a kitchen that was a bit more of a statement for our open plan living area, and when we found what we liked in the Cucina Colore range we were then disappointed to find it was going to be beyond our budget. When my husband suggested going with an online company I was very dubious but it turned out to be as smooth a process as you could ask for. We had our outline design but I appreciated your help in finalising the details. We got the kitchen to the spec we wanted for less than we would have paid to a high-street kitchen designer, who could only have given us a basic kitchen with shelved cupboards and none of the fancy bits for more than we paid for the top spec with Alaris.
I also want to say thanks for responding so quickly and efficiently to the various changes we made during the ordering process and sorting out the little glitches with Mereway. All in all getting the kitchen ordered and fitted was one of the least problematical parts of our renovation in the end. When the place is cleaned up and looking more presentable I will send you some pictures of the finished product.
It was a pleasure working with you and it was great to find professionalism and efficiency can work even over distance and the internet. Without Alaris I would have had to settle for less than what I wanted and my kitchen would always have been a reminder of what I could not have! Thanks for saving me from that!

I really liked the kitchen range at John Lewis kitchens but I didn't like the price tag and so I searched online for the manufacturers and I came across Alaris who did the kitchen I wanted for a really good price. I was nervous about oredreing over the internet and so I asked them for some references which they gave me and I checked out. The references weere really good too and so I thought I would go ahead with the order and make it on my credt card for extra protection. The whole process was managed really well by my contcat at Alaris John Murray and even though I chnaged my mind a few times on various elements of the kitchen he was always accomodating and redid my plans and perspective drawings. The units arrived in good time even though we had loads of snow and I expected a delay. A couple of unit doors were scratched which they told me about and then they arranged for some replacements to be sent. I would definetly recommend them and wuld use them again.

We wanted a German made, large modern handleless kitchen. I had been looking for 10 weeks and had 10 quotes before coming across Alaris. I sent the design off to John and got a quote the next day which was simply unbelievable, along with suggestions on how the design could be improved.
Johns price undercut by a massive amount even the lowest quote I had to date. We exchanged a few emails to refine the design further and agreed the price. I then checked the design and build quality by looking at a few showrooms and browsing the manufacturers site in detail.
It's a bit nervous dealing with such a large purchase over the internet (kitchen from Germany, Alaris in Scotland and our home in Hertfordshire) - but we took the risk and Wow was it worth it. The units arrived at 8am on the promised day, 6 weeks later (all 40 boxes) already assembled . My fitter simply unpacked them, each package had installation instructions and the installation took 3 days including building a studwork surround for the cooker. Stunning accuracy - The whole kitchen fitted to within 10mm of the walls, all the doors and mitres were perfect and the savings have paid for the granite worktops and appliances. When we started looking at kitchens we visited the usual showrooms and kitchen designer studio's - all the kitchens we liked were way out of our budget. The kitchen we now have is exactly the same as the best we have ever seen in the posh design studio at half the cost. Best decision we ever made. Top tips - Measure your room very accurately and know your design inside out (we stuck ours on the fridge door). Do your research and find a really good kitchen fitter and ensure a perfect job. I asked a lot of fitters and they all quoted the same cost £2K but their quality of work varied widely

Just a note to show appreciation of the purchasing and fitting of our kitchen, from your salesman, your fitters, plumbers, plasterers and electricians. Each one has done a first class job, and nothing was too much trouble for them, and the finished kitchen is beautiful, exactly as we wanted it.
We would have no problem in recommedning you all to family and friends.
A special mention for Fred who came along every day to make sure we were happy with everything and to answer wany questions we had. This showed us that your compnay cares about its customers. Thank you again for our beuatiful kitchen. A first class job.

I live in South West France and needed two large and expensive pieces of Kitchen equipment. The scope of the UK Internet is in my view broader than that in France. I was able to locate the products required on the Alaris Website, and found my telephone contact with Richard of Alaris positive and helpful from then on.
Conclusion of my purchase was quick, followed by road shipping from Aberdeen to SW France. That is not an everyday occurence. But the products were palleted and well packed and all arrived in good order. Richard throughout followed up my order to delivery to ensure satisfaction. I cannot ask for more. I would be happy to use Alaris again. And to me a positive and helpful phone manner is important.

We live in London, measured up our own space then purchased the kitchen by phone.
John who helped us with the purchase was extremely helpful at all times. I must have called and emailed 20 times with often rather insignificant questions and always received an immediate prompt, constructive and polite response.
I felt in control of the process throughout, have purchased the kitchen I had envisaged and was at no time felt presurised to buy.
We now have a high quality Mereway kitchen at a real discount.

Just to say the kitchen arrived first thing this morning as per Paul's phone call yesterday - it looks stunning even inside the packaging - Mum v excited! The Mereway driver was really polite and helpful so please feed that back to them. It was much appreciated.

Everything has been delivered perfectly as per the order as far as I can see, although I haven't unwrapped anything yet. A couple of plinths will be delivered next week as they were out of stock. All being well the kitchen will be installed at the end of next week - we are just waiting for the plaster to dry at the moment.

Thank you again for all your input with the design and being so incredibly efficient and helpful. A really fantastic service from 600 miles away! Could you please forward this to John (junior), who I spoke to right as the beginning, and Paul as well, because I don't have their email addresses to say thank you.

We have had our kitchen extended and were looking for a modern stylish kitchen to fit into a large area. I had a particular kitchen company in mind, but the quotes were just too expensive. Whilst searched the web, I came across Alaris who supplied the kitchen units i was looking for. I was nervous about using an internet based company but the price quoted was so much cheaper than i had been previousy quoted that i took a chance. The service was great. I worked with John Murray via email and together we came up with a design which looks fantastic. He was very patient and changed the plans whenever i asked him to - which was quite often! He also always answered the phone which was very reassuring. I have had a very good experience with Alaris and i would definately recommend using them. I would also emphasise however the importance of finding a good kitchen fitter!

I am 100% happy with the kitchen (pronorm - German make) and service we have received from Alaris. I genuinely have nothing negative to say. A few months ago, I emailed about 12 different pronorm suppliers around the UK with my specifications and rough kitchen design. Some of them didn't even reply to my email. Of the replies I did receive, Alaris were by far the best quote (some other kitchen companies even quoted double the price!!). Every time I emailed or phoned (which was a lot as I kept changing my mind with the layout) John Murray responded positively and dealt with my questions very quickly which helped a lot with the design process. I have dealt with other companies which take days to respond to a minor query which just delays everything and can be frustrating. Our kitchen was delivered exactly as specified with no nasty surprises (which had been a slight concern of mine purchasing a kitchen over the Internet and it looks fabulous I would recommend alaris kitchens to anyone wanting to buy a kitchen. Excellent quality, fantastic service and all cheaper than other competitors! What more can you ask?

I am very happy to say; we have got what we ordered a high spec Pronorm kitchen at a very good price(4k on units), John was excellent in helping us plan exactly what we needed and discussing options. The only issues we had were sometimes communication on delivery etc Everyone was pleasant on the phone, replied to emails and calls but info on the delivery was lacking and vague, and sometimes it was a little hard to get hold of individuals. But looking in our kitchen now we are over the moon, every item arrived in perfect condition and the quality is superb.

Everybody likes our new kitchen because of sink.
Also I was quite surprised of quite fast delivery - if took some two weeks from GB to Eastern Europe.
Only drawback was the price of delivery, almost the same as the price of product

The whole transaction went fast including a quote for international shipping. Unfortunately, the sink was broken upon arrival in Denmark. However, the Alaris sales rep quickly organized a replacement sink that arrived a week later at no additional cost to me. From the beginning the service we received was tipp-topp. Richard had an eye on our order which was first sent to Germany and then forwarded by our German friends to Switzerland. Shipping was very fast, the package was wrapped in additional blister pack and the item arrived in perfect condition.
